KEES BROUWER

Founder

Kees Brouwer was born into the family of a well-known policeman father, a homemaker mother, and seven siblings in Rotterdam, in 1948. He was always interested in knowing what made machines work. He had a particular interest in making and repairing radios. He progressed into electrical engineering, making cabinet stereos with ornate veneers for fun. As he graduated from MTS (technical school) and was about to begin an engineering bachelor’s program, Kees accepted Jesus. As you know, this changes a person.

He wanted to know more about the Bible to understand God and changed his educational focus to seminary training from Tabor College to Tyndale Theological Seminary. It was recommended by his two Deaconesses (Protestant Nuns) sisters. During seminary, a rule of no opposite-sex contact was enforced. Kees waited until his fifth year to begin correspondence with Willemijn, whom he had met years before. When he returned to Rotterdam, they met again in a bible study group. He had given his testimony, and God joined their hearts that day in 1976. In 1978 the Brouwer Family arrived in Thailand, and started their mission work in Northern Thailand. Currently Kees Brouwer Has been serving in Thailand for 48 years, in the field of church planting, leadership training, and is founder of the Christian German International School, over 30 years ago. Now he continues to mentor his son Hendrik Brouwer in the continuation of the mission work.

HENDRIK BROUWER

Director

Kees and Willimijn had two children, Anneke and Hendrik. Anneke is involved with the Tree of Life Foundation in Europe and Africa; while Hendrik has answered the call to continue and grow the Brouwer Ministry (now Blessings & Mercy Foundation).

Hendrik was born and raised in Thailand, learning English, Thai, and Dutch. His studies took him to The Netherlands where he attended ETH-seminary and had further education in engineering and business administration. While building his career he also built his family of six daughters with wife Dew. Having first build companies for others in the power, oil & gas maintenance sector, in 2016 the Brouwers build their own company in Thailand. Hardship during covid, made a life change which led to the calling to mission work. The combination of having a business ecosystem in heavy industry behind them together with the support and knowledge of the Church of Christ in Thailand, the Brouwer Family is called to advance the Kingdom of God.

They live in Chiang Mai and fill roles for the ministry; cancer patient care, prison ministry, kai dong praporn project, and relocation of persecuted Vietnamese Christian.
