ABOUT Blessings & Mercy Foundation

OUR STORY
Brief History
Brouwer Ministry was founded by Kees and Willemijn Brouwer in 1978, under the Marburger Mission, and is continued under the Tree of Life foundation. The Tree of Life was founded by the Brouwer family in the Netherlands by Christian Slager, Anneke Brouwers husband.
Kees and Willemijn Brouwer are missionaries whose lives have been shaped by a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ and for the children of God, both those who have yet to know Him and those entrusted to the care of the Church. For more than five decades, their calling has been expressed through faithful presence, humble service, and a steadfast commitment to seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.
Kees received his theological training at Tabor Seminary in Marburg, Germany, and later at Tyndale Seminary in Badhoevedorp, the Netherlands, where he was formed in biblical theology, mission, and pastoral leadership. Following their commissioning with the Marburger Mission, Kees and Willemijn served for 37 years in northern Thailand, dedicating their lives to the spiritual growth of the Church and the proclamation of the Gospel. Their primary ministry focus was the Wiang Pa Pao church district under Region (Park) 2, Chiang Rai, where they walked closely with pastors, evangelists, and congregations across rural and underserved communities.
Their missionary work was deeply relational and incarnational. Kees and Willemijn invested in church planting, leadership training, and evangelism, not as short-term projects, but as long-term commitments rooted in love, patience, and prayer. They carried a particular burden for raising up local leaders who could shepherd God’s people with integrity, compassion, and biblical depth. Many of today’s church leaders in northern Thailand have been shaped, directly or indirectly, by their counsel, teaching, and example.
Beyond formal ministry, their lives have been marked by hospitality and spiritual parenthood. Together, they helped establish a retreat and discipleship center in Wiang Papao Chiang Rai, which has served for decades as a place of rest, healing, prayer, and renewal for pastors, missionaries, church workers, and families. This center has quietly become a spiritual home for many, bearing witness to their belief that caring for the flock is as vital as reaching the lost.
Kees also extended his missionary calling into the sphere of education, serving as Founder and Chairman of the Board of the German International School Chiang Mai for 20 years. Through this role, he sought to serve both expatriate and local families, reflecting a holistic understanding of mission that honors children, families, and community life as part of God’s redemptive work.
Known for their humility, gentleness, and discernment, Kees and Willemijn continue to serve as trusted spiritual parents and advisors. Even in later years, their hearts remain deeply engaged with the mission of God—interceding, mentoring, and encouraging new generations of leaders and ministries. Their legacy is one of quiet faithfulness: loving Christ, seeking the lost, and shepherding the Church with enduring devotion.
Their son Hendrik has received a calling and is continuing this mission.
Hendrik Brouwer is born and raised in Thailand, married to Dew Brouwer. Together they have 6 daughters. Hendrik has attended ETH-seminary in the Netherlands, secondly studied engineering management and holds an interest engineering related companies in Thailand which generate income for the ministries together with our supporters and partners in ministry. He was called to continue the Brouwer Ministry. Hendrik and family live and minister in Chiang Mai Thailand full time.
Hendrik and Dew (Krittiya) Brouwer serve the Lord as a family within the Church of Christ in Thailand (CCT), continuing a multigenerational legacy of faith, mission, and service. Under the spiritual guidance and counsel of Rev. Allan and Joan Eubank, who have long served as trusted mentors and spiritual parents, they are committed to walking in obedience, accountability, and prayer as they pursue the work God has entrusted to them.
Hendrik was educated in theology, and later in mechanical engineering and business management. For more than 20 years, he worked in the engineering sector, primarily within power generation and the oil and gas industry, gaining extensive experience in complex projects, leadership, and organizational development. Over time, God redirected his path, calling him to lay down a successful professional career in order to serve the Kingdom more fully. Rather than abandoning his professional skills, Hendrik now applies them to ministry—bringing structure, strategic thinking, and sustainability to projects that support the Church and those serving on the front lines.
Dew (Krittiya) Brouwer is a computer engineer with a professional background spanning event management and work as a brand ambassador for various technology and fashion brands. Her gifts in communication, coordination, and creative engagement play a vital role in ministry. Dew brings warmth, discernment, and hospitality, helping to create environments where people feel welcomed, safe, and valued—essential foundations for healing, discipleship, and collaboration.
Together with their six daughters—Monique, Ben, Alina, Bam, Vivienne (Vivi), and Amelia—Hendrik and Dew understand family life itself as part of their calling. Their oldest daughter is currently studying social work in the Netherlands, reflecting a growing heart to serve others with compassion, professionalism, and faith. Their younger children are homeschooled, allowing education to be shaped around spiritual formation, character development, and family life. The children are passionate basketball players, actively competing in national-level youth tournaments, where they learn discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and excellence. At home, they enjoy baking and cooking together, expressing creativity and hospitality as a family.
Within church life, the Brouwer children are actively involved in service. The middle children—Ben, Alina, and Bam—regularly assist with Sunday school and church camps, joyfully serving younger children and developing leadership through hands-on ministry. The youngest two, Vivi and Amelia, enjoy accompanying their father on visits to different churches, experiencing worship, fellowship, and the wider body of Christ from an early age. As a family, the Brouwers seek to model a lived faith, where ministry and family life are not separated but woven together.
A central aspect of Hendrik and Dew’s ministry has been prayer, particularly prayer for those suffering from serious illness, including cancer. Through this prayer ministry, they have witnessed not only physical healing but also deep spiritual transformation—lives moving from despair to hope, from fear to peace, and from isolation into love and joy. These experiences have strengthened their trust in God’s compassion and deepened their desire to serve those who are carrying heavy burdens.
They are deeply convicted by the calling to “help those who help others.” This conviction has led them into the facilitation and project development space, where they support pastors, missionaries, caregivers, and ministry leaders by creating sustainable structures, safe spaces, and practical resources that enable long-term Kingdom impact.
In partnership with the Church of Christ in Thailand and the Blessings & Mercy Foundation, Hendrik and Dew are now involved in the revival and further development of the Kai Dong Praporn Retreat Center in Wiang Pa Pao. This center was originally developed by Rev. Kees Brouwer in collaboration with the Marburger Mission as a place of retreat, prayer, leadership formation, and renewal. Today, Hendrik and Dew steward this legacy with humility and vision, honoring the foundations laid by previous generations while preparing Kai Dong Praporn to serve future generations of church leaders, families, and Kingdom workers throughout Thailand and beyond.

OUR VISION
Blessings & Mercy Foundation is a faith-based organization, the management bases their beliefs and motivation on the Bible and their relationship with Christ. We are of the strong belief that through faith anything is possible. Prayer is key: "when you pray for others you are praying for yourself". Grace is a divine energy of God's love, that passes through us to bless others. Others then in turn pass it on and bring forth fruit, 30 fold, 60 fold, 100 fold. We believe in helping people that help others. We bring a strong focus on leadership training, counseling and prayer to build up strong leaders, by becoming followers of Jesus. People can not "learn Jesus" you have to catch onto it. All we can do is live the character of Christ, and pray that His love will awaken the desire to know Him.
